Instantly as soon as it reaches 90% memory usage temps will rocket to 95C+!!!Īnything that uses AVX will murder these chips, and in reality they add so much stress that its totally unnecessary to use these apps for checking system stability. If I run the test again, with the same settings as above but this time I also tick AVX box. At my overclock 4.5GHz 1.24v and with my NZXT Kraken X61 cooler I can keep temps below 70C easily even after 4+ hours of stressing. If I run OCCT in linpack mode, select 90% memory usage, 64bit ticked, and use all logical cores ticked.

Thinking about lowering the clock down to where I had it before, 4.3, and test it at 1.28V 4.35/1.28v, It was like in the very low 80's, never hit 85, maybe 81-82c, VRM's didn't even hit 60C, upper 50'c, That's nothing, vrm's usually can go much higher then that so no worries.Īnything with AVX instruction set will completely MURDER any recent Intel chips. Is 85-87c for 1 hr testing ok for this cpu? I just did a quick stress test 4.35/1.3v and the temp just went to 85c like within seconds. I would like to know, whats everyone temps/max overclock with prime95 28.5 version and how long did everyone did their test, I think 1 hr+ of this program is very good, any weakness in your system, this program will automatically flunk within seconds.Ībsolutely very stressful to your cpu and psu for sure.

One thing I love about using prime95 is that you can use this program for like and hr and get it to be stable then it flunks where other programs you can use for hrs and hrs long and still not one hiccup. I was hesitant to use this program due to people saying that it is very brutal on your psu, etc. Hello everyone, happy holidays, I just recently tried the Prime95 28.5 version on my overclocked 5820k 4.65ghz/1.39V+, man, does it run hot, soon as I started to test the program with maximum heat test, over 85+C right off the back, I tested with different clocks, Seems 4.3-4.35ghz seems very stable, I got 4.3ghz stable for over 30mins and temps seems decent, upper 70's prettie much 1.26V, I just did a cpu test 4.35ghz this time 1.28V and it was stable for like an hr or so and one of the worker threads just went out so I had to up the voltage and other stuff, I haven't tested the cpu 1.3v but should be alot more stable now.
